By two bells that morning, they were all stirring their stumps for there was a big sea running.Tootles the grumpy little clown was among them, with a rope's end in his hand chewing Tobacco. He swore under his breath at the sight of young Trudy dancing on the ship. They all donned pirate clothes cut off at the knee, shaved smartly, tumbled up with the true nautical roll and hitching their trousers.
It need not be said who was captain.Daughfer and Smith were the first and second mates. There was a woman abroad.Jane was her name I think. She never saw me as the other comrades. Oh no. Instead she saw me as a spiteful, vain, devilish creature. I on the other hand saw her as an angel. She thinks I captured her,but can you blame me?
I had to have her. I most probably sound like an old man reminiscing his younger days but it seems like yesterday that I saw her on the South Carolina beach all by herself seated on a rock far from shore. Her long blonde hair dancing in the wind. Her long, tanned legs stretched out on the surface of the rock. She had what seemed like a veil drapped over her body. From where I stood on my magnificent ship, she looked like a mermaid. No. A true angel who was walking on Earth. I have no intensions of hurting her but the way my fellow boys pulled her off the rock I understand her hatred towards me.
My heart longs to tell her that it wasn't my fault for hurting her unintendedly. How I wish I could embrace her petite body in a warm everlasting hug.
''A'rite there cptain?! Wher we headn to?!'' asked Trudy, awakening me from that far off dream i've been indulging myself in. At that moment I caught Jane's eyes.
She stomped away from me.
